The Seller Aim Profit Calculator is embedded directly in the product analysis panel, so every calculation happens in context — on the listing you’re actually considering buying. As soon as you enter your cost of goods, the calculator updates in real time, instantly showing your net profit, ROI, margin, and a full breakdown of Amazon fees. There’s no need to copy data into a separate spreadsheet or tool; everything lives where you’re already doing your research.

Inputs

The calculator accepts the following inputs to model your profitability accurately. You can adjust any field and see results update immediately.
The sell price defaults to the current Buy Box price pulled live from Amazon. You can override it to model different pricing scenarios — for example, to see what you’d need to charge to hit a target ROI.

What the Calculator Shows

Once your inputs are entered, the calculator displays a complete profitability summary with every cost component broken out. Profitability metrics:
  • Profit (Net) — your take-home amount per unit after all fees and costs
  • ROI (%) — return on investment, calculated as (Profit ÷ COG) × 100
  • Margin (%) — profit as a percentage of the selling price
  • Break-even Price — the minimum sell price at which you make zero profit
Amazon fee breakdown:
Hover over any fee line item to see exactly how Seller Aim calculated it, including the dimensional weight or fee tier used. This is especially useful for large or heavy items where fulfillment fees can vary significantly.

FBA vs FBM Comparison

One of the most useful features of the profit calculator is the ability to toggle between FBA and FBM fulfillment types instantly and compare profitability side by side. This lets you decide which method is more advantageous for a given product before you commit to an inventory strategy. How to toggle:
1

Open the Calculator Panel

Navigate to any Amazon product page with the Seller Aim extension active and open the Profit Calculator section.
2

Enter Your COG

Type your cost of goods into the COG field. Both FBA and FBM results will populate simultaneously.
3

View Side-by-Side Results

Click Compare FBA vs FBM to see a split view with profit, ROI, and margin calculated for both fulfillment methods at once.
4

Add FBM Shipping Cost

Enter your per-unit shipping cost for FBM (the cost to ship directly to the customer) to ensure an accurate comparison.
When FBM is more profitable than FBA:
  • Large or heavy products — FBA fulfillment fees scale with size and weight, so bulky items can cost more to fulfill via FBA than you’d spend shipping yourself
  • Slow-moving inventory — long-term FBA storage fees can erode margins on products that sell infrequently
  • Locally sourced products — if you’re already set up for fast shipping, FBM eliminates inbound freight to Amazon warehouses
  • High-value items — when the referral fee is already substantial, avoiding additional FBA fees can meaningfully improve net profit
FBM listings can still win the Buy Box, especially if you offer competitive shipping speeds. Many experienced sellers maintain both FBA and FBM offers on the same ASIN as a hedging strategy.

VAT Calculator

For sellers operating in VAT-registered markets, the Seller Aim calculator includes a dedicated VAT module that adjusts your profitability figures based on your VAT scheme. European VAT schemes supported: US and Canada sales tax: Enter your applicable state or provincial sales tax rate in the Tax Rate field. The calculator adjusts net figures accordingly. Note that Amazon collects and remits marketplace facilitator tax in most US states, so this field is most relevant for FBM sellers managing their own tax obligations.
Tax treatment can vary significantly based on your business structure and jurisdiction. The VAT and tax fields in Seller Aim are for estimation purposes. Always confirm your tax position with a qualified accountant.

Saving Your Calculation

Once you’ve run a calculation you want to keep, Seller Aim makes it easy to save and export your work for later reference or team sharing. Adding notes and COG to a product record:
1

Click Save to List

In the calculator panel, click Save to List to add the product and its current calculation to your Seller Aim product list.
2

Add a Note

Enter an optional note (e.g., supplier name, deal terms, restock date) that will be stored alongside the product record.
3

Lock In Your COG

The COG you entered is saved with the record so future views of that product show your personalized profit estimate, not a blank calculator.
Exporting calculations to Google Sheets: Seller Aim can push your saved product calculations directly to a connected Google Sheet, making it simple to share sourcing lists with team members or build approval workflows.
1

Connect Google Sheets

In Settings → Integrations, authorize Seller Aim to access your Google account and select or create a destination spreadsheet.
2

Export a Product

From any saved product record, click Export to Sheets. The product’s ASIN, title, COG, sell price, profit, ROI, margin, and fees are written to a new row.
3

Bulk Export

From your product list, select multiple records and use Bulk Export → Google Sheets to push an entire sourcing list at once.
Set up a Google Sheets template with your preferred column layout before connecting, so exported data populates exactly where you expect it. Seller Aim writes to the first empty row it finds in the sheet.
